Australia Job Ads Rebound In March
Job advertisements in Australia increased in March after decreasing in the previous month, latest survey from the Australian and New Zealand Banking Group revealed Monday.
Total job ads rose a seasonally adjusted 0.3 percent month-over-month in March, reversing a 0.8 percent decline in February.
Annual growth in job ads accelerated marginally to 7.0 percent in March from 6.9 percent a month ago.
“It is encouraging to see an improvement in job ads in March, albeit modest, especially given the disappointing jobs report in February. While somewhat at odds with recent employment data, the improvement in job ads is consistent with other forward indicators such as our Labour Market Conditions Index and solid business conditions,” David Plank, ANZ head of Australian Economics, said.
“As such, we continue to expect a gradual improvement in labour market conditions through 2017.”
