Bank of England policy meeting in focus next week

Next week’s highlights will be the Bank of England’s monetary policy decision as well as some PMI releases.

On Monday the US Services PMI are released by Markit, while on Tuesday, services PMI results are released across Europe.

In Australia, the main highlight on Tuesday will be the Reserve Bank’s interest rate announcement. The aussie has been weakening in anticipation of a rate cut by the central bank.
The Bank of Japan also announces its latest interest rate decision.

Later on Tuesday, the Eurozone’s Sentix Investor Confidence Index is due, while producer price figures are also published for the euro area.

On Wednesday, current account numbers are released by Japan.

Then the Eurozone Retail PMI and Germany Construction PMI are released by Markit.

France sees the release of trade balance data, while industrial orders numbers are out in Germany. It will also be important to watch for Eurozone retail sales numbers.

On Thursday, the highlight will be the interest rate decision by the Bank of England. Also, UK trade data are due.

Germany will release trade balance data and industrial production numbers. Since Germany is the Eurozone’s largest economy, these will be interesting to watch.
Initial jobless claims figures are out in the US.

On Friday, China issues CPI data. This inflation data will be important.

The UK the releases industrial production numbers and construction output figures.

In Canada, housing starts numbers and unemployment data are issued, while import and export prices are released by the US.
