ECB meeting the highlight of the week

On Monday, Japan releases consumer confidence and industrial production figures. Following from this, the Eurozone issues construction data and balance of payments figures.

Tuesday sees GDP numbers for the final quarter of 2014 out in China, as well as industrial production, investment and retail sales data.

On the same day, Germany sees the release of producer price figures, followed by ZEW’s economic sentiment survey.

On Wednesday, monetary policy meetings are held by the central banks of Canada and Japan, while the minutes from the Bank of Japan’s last meeting are published.
Highlight of the day come from the UK which releases unemployment and earnings data.

Building permits and housing starts figures are out in the US.

Meanwhile, it is worth watching the 2015 World Economic Forum in Davos which commences on this day.

On Thursday, consumer inflation expectations are released in Australia.

The highlight of the day (and of the week) will be the ECB’s first monetary policy meeting of 2015.

Later in the day, US jobless claims and house price data are out.

For the final day of the week, Markit releases its Flash PMI data for China, Japan, the Eurozone and the US. December retail sales figures are issued in the UK.

Inflation numbers are published in Canada, while the Conference Board’s leading indicator and house sales data are the highlights in the US.
