Forex News Trading Strategy For The Week

This week the main focus will be on inflation with CPI data from the UK, US and Canada. We will also get the latest BOJ decision on monetary policy, and see the release of the minutes from the most recent RBA and Fed meetings. Traders will also be focused on the latest dairy prices when the GDT is released, where a third consecutive negative print will likely increase sentiment for an upcoming RBNZ rate cut.

Tuesday 17th.

12:30am GMT – Australian Monetary Policy Meeting Minutes.
2:00am GMT – New Zealand’s Inflation Expectations.
9:30pm GMT – UK CPI.
10:00am GMT – German ZEW Economic Sentiment.
1:30pm GMT – US CPI and Core CPI.
Tentative – GDT Price Index.

Wednesday 18th.

1:30pm GMT – US Building Permits.
7:00pm GMT – FOMC Meeting Minutes.

Thursday 19th.

9:30am GMT – UK Retail Sales
1:30pm GMT – Unemployment Claims
3:00pm GMT – Philly Fed Manufacturing Index.
Tentative – Japan’s Monetary Policy Statement.
Tentative – BOJ Press Conference.

Friday 20th.

8:00am GMT – ECB President Draghi Speaks.
1:30pm GMT – Canadian Core CPI and Core Retail Sales.
