NZD/USD tumbles on dovish RBNZ talk

NZD/USD opened in Asia at 0.7663, plunged to 0.7565. RBNZ Assistant Governor McDermott makes dovish comments and sends NZD down across board. The bias was likely to remain down on this RBNZ surprise.

USD/JPY rose early in the Asian session on Thursday, from 119.90 through 120.00 before easing later to 119.88. Japanese flash manufacturing PMI disappointed. EUR/JPY was heavy, slipping from 128.67 to 128.33, AUD/JPY see-sawed between 90.79-91.88.

EUR/USD opened in Asia at 1.0726, sliding down to 1.0692 on a broadly stronger USD. Eurozone PMIs will be in focus later. For now the EUR bias still down.

GBP/USD consolidated below 1.5080, the high hit on Wednesday after being lifted by a hawkish Bank of England minutes. In Asia the pair dipped from 1.5042 to 1.5013 before bouncing. It remains to be seen if the trend will remain up. EUR/GBP was soggy, trading 0.7121-32 in Asia.

USD/CHF held onto gains after a surge on the SNB announcement yesterday, being more aggressive on negative rates. For now the pair traded a 0.9692-0.9718 range. EUR/CHF eased back down from the post-SNB announcement spike to 1.0426. It slipped to 1.0382.

AUD/USD opened in Asia at 0.7759, down from 0.7760 to 0.7719 before bouncing. Soft China PMI weighed on the aussie. There is support ahead of 0.7700.
