Eurogroup, FOMC minutes in focus next week

Monday begins with the release of fourth quarter GDP numbers and industrial output data from Japan. For the rest of the day, the market focus will be on the Eurogroup meetings. Investors are eager to see if there will be a deal on the Greek bailout. Last Wednesday’s extraordinary Eurogroup meeting did achieve anything.

On Tuesday China publishes house price data. Then, inflation numbers are out in Greece and the UK. Following these, economic sentiment data for Germany and the Eurozone are published by ZEW. Later in the North American session, the US sees the release of the latest NAHB Housing Market Index.

On Wednesday, the Bank of Japan releases a monetary policy statement and then will hold a press conference which will be closely watched.

Then focus will be on the UK as the Bank of England publishes minutes from its February meeting. Meanwhile, UK unemployment data are also out.

From North America, Canada sees the release of wholesale trade data, while in the US, industrial production figures are released alongside housing starts data and producer price numbers.

Furthermore, the FOMC releases minutes from its latest meeting. These are important to watch as they may cause volatility in the markets.

On Thursday, Japanese trade data are released. From the Eurozone, current account numbers and consumer confidence data are released.

Then, the Confederation of British Industry releases orders data.

Initial jobless claims numbers and the Conference Board Leading Indicator are issued in the US.

Early on Friday Flash PMI results for Japan are out, followed by the Eurozone and the US PMIs – all compiled by Markit. Retail sales figures are issued in the UK and Canada.
