UK employment data and China inflation in focus

The upcoming week will be relatively quieter in terms of data after a busy week that ended with the all-important US non-farm payrolls report that beat expectations.

On Monday the latest Sentix Index is released for the Euro zone as well as German trade balance data.

House starts data are meanwhile issued in Canada.

The US sees the release of employment trends figures.

On Tuesday, current account data are meanwhile issued in Japan, followed by the NAB Australian business confidence index.

Then, focus will be on China which sees the release of consumer price data for October. Consumer prices rose 1.6% in September, down from August’s 2% and remaining well below the government’s target of around 3%.

The British Retail Consortium releases latest retail sales numbers.

NFIB business optimism and inventory figures are out in the US.

On Wednesday, Australia sees the release of consumer sentiment numbers.

In China, industrial output and retail sales figures are updated, providing important information on the health of the world’s second largest economy.

The highlight of the day will be UK employment data. The latest data showed the unemployment rate falling to 5.4% in the three months to August, its lowest level since mid-2008.

The North American session will likely be quiet as it is a public holiday in the US and Canada in observance of Veterans Day.

On Thursday, Australian publishes its employment report.

Japan sees the release of machinery orders figures.

Industrial production numbers are published for the Eurozone. Then inflation data are updated in Germany.

Initial jobless claims figures are issued in the US.

On Friday, Japan releases industrial output and capacity utilisation.

Third quarter GDP and trade figures are meanwhile released across the Eurozone.

In the US, retail sales, producer price and business inventory data are released alongside the latest Reuters/Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index.
