In terms Forex news trading events this week begins slow with a US Bank Holiday. However, it quickly picks up on Tuesday with GDP and Industrial Production data from China, CPI’s from the UK and New Zealand, as well as the most recent GDT auction. UK Jobs and US CPI are due up on Wednesday, but the highlight event for the day will be the BOC Rate Decision. The ECB follows on Thursday with it’s rate decision and press conference where investors will be looking for any new clues regarding future changes to the current stimulus package.

9:30am GMT – UK CPI.
10:00am GMT – German ZEW Economic Sentiment.
9:45pm GMT – New Zealand’s CPI.
Tentative – GDT Price Index.

Wednesday 20th.

9:30am GMT – UK Average Earnings Index and Claimant Count Change .
1:30pm GMT – Canadian Manufacturing Sales.
1:30pm GMT – US Building Permits, CPI and Core CPI.
3:00pm GMT – BOC Monetary Policy Report, Rate Statement and Overnight Rate.
3:30pm GMT – US Crude Oil Inventories.
4:15pm GMT – BOC Press Conference.

Thursday 21st.

12:45pm GMT – ECB Minimum Bid Rate.
1:30pm GMT – ECB Press Conference.
1:30pm GMT – US Unemployment Claims and Philly Fed Manufacturing Index.

Friday 22nd.

8:00am GMT – French Flash Manufacturing PMI.
8:30am GMT – German Flash Manufacturing PMI.
9:30am GMT – UK Retail Sales.
1:30pm GMT – Canadian Core CPI and Core Retail Sales.
